May I have your attention please?
I have it?
Good.
Elegant, at the mature age of seven-and-a-half, has announced her future baby names. In order to fully illustrate this, let’s assume that she’ll be marrying someone named John Smith.
El’s boy names, in order of preference:
- Martin Luther Smith (or possibly Martin Luther King Junior Smith)
- Benjamin Franklin Smith
- George Washington Smith
- Abraham Lincoln Smith
The girl names:
- Rosa Parks Smith
- Susan Beatrice Smith (as in, Susan B. Anthony — no, that’s not what the B stands for; the B comes from Junie B. Jones)
- Sacagawea Sacagawea Smith (she likes it so much she’ll use it twice)
- Helen Keller Smith
Graceful is thinking she likes the name Butterfly.
When I asked Elegant to repeat her list for me, she said, “Are you going to blog this?”
Graceful said, “I’m SURE she is.”
Busted.

Butterfly!?!
Apparently someone has been listening in class, which is good.
At least none of the names are too bizarre.

I like Graceful’s choice, lol. And I can tell what Elegant has been studying in school, and that she obviously has enjoyed the lessons. Just wait until she gets to the 60’s. She and her sister will be fighting over the Butterfly name.

Has someone been studying history? And biology?? ? My sons thought we should have named Mr. G “Huck.” Yeah, kid names are brilliant.
What’s up with the “Smith?”

I love this list, and the ‘of course, she is’ comment. It’ll be interesting to see the reality, in about 20 years. No hurry, put keep me posted.

That’s brilliant - Ellie is learn-ed! I love the Sacagawea. It does roll off the tongue nicely, so you may as well have it twice.
Hell it’s better than Beyonce or Britney….

Way cool! And I think you’d have to have Sacagawea twice. Unless she went for Sacagawea Pocahontas Smith. It has a nice ring to it!

I am rather fond of Sacagawea Sacagawea Smith. Your girls are going to grow up and blog about you-just you wait. We’ve all got in coming!

I got the seeds today. I have been so busy with exams (and other stuff..) that I hadn’t realized I had won. But oh, what a very nice surprise. Thank you. Thank you.

Nice. Dear Butterfly is a name after my own heart
And yes, good for El for paying attention in class, and honoring some very important people in her future family.
And the blogging comment, too adorable . . . and someone has also been paying attention in “class”
